Fishing Grasshopper patterns on the Pere Marquette
Pere Marquette Fishing report for mid summer , has water low and clear. Water temperatures have been a major issue early in the summer, but the last few days things came back to normal. Hoppers, ants, and beetles are all bringing some nice trout to the surface for some exciting summer time fishing.
Pere Marquette Fishing report for Trout is pretty good, as water is really low and clear. With means trout are hungry for food, with only small mayflies hatching. Trico’s and BWO’s these morsels are not enough food to help adult trout maintain their calories. Thus properly presented grasshoppers, beetles, and ants are all getting good attention.
Water temps with this hot weather have been an issue. But with some cool nights water temps came back down to the high 50’s in the morning, and climbed back to 64 degrees in the hot of the day. We recommend you don’t fish for trout in the 69-70 degree range.

Call us for a Trout trip we will also be guiding the Pine River, another fantastic streamer river for trout during the summer. Also not too early to think about Salmon trips, with only a few months before they start to show.
