After receiving a bunch of rain on Wednesday last week, the Manistee came up quite a bit and is holding a nice stain. The cooler weather this past week gave us some daytime Iso hatches and the fish ate them extremely well in the hard rain. After the rain, the water temps crashed and the end of the week had fish reluctant to look up. The sun these last couple of days should change things as the temps rebound. I expected some decent streamer action with the stain in the water, but it was a tough bite.
Iso spinners have been present most evenings, but the spinnerfalls have been light to non existent. Make sure to bring bat flies with you as they have been present in decent numbers the past week. With the sun, Hex have also just started popping in the shallow mud flats. I would expect them to get more consistent this week as we warm up a bit. We have just a couple openings mid to end of the week if you’re looking to get out.
