It’s Time to Get Out and Go Trout Fishing!
After another week of warm, dry weather the Manistee is starting to round into shape and trout fishing is picking up. The river is still a little higher than normal for this time of year, but looks great. Water temps have bumped up and fish are looking up with consistency. Right now there are still mahogany spinners and olive stones. The Isos have also just started.
Streamer fishing has been tough in the bright sun, but during a cloudy, rainy day should still get some play. A good starting point this time of year are chestnut lamprey patterns as they are pretty prevalent right now. June looks to be setting up great and we still have a few openings if you’re looking to get out and chase some bugs.
