Manistee River Report – Below Tippy Dam
Manistee Fishing Report Below Tippy Dam – 4.2.24
The Manistee is currently running low and clear. We could really use some precipitation and it looks like we are supposed to get some today. Fishing has been up and down the past week and a bump in flows would go a long way in reshuffling the deck a bit.
Most fish have been sitting in close proximity to spawning gravel with moving fish in the pinch points. Eggs were the top producer this week. With the clear water, smaller yellow and peach colors did a bulk of the work. Stoneflies nymphs also got a bit of attention.
There were a few trout starting to eat salmon fry so make sure to vary a few of those as well.
We still have some spots open for the next few weeks of fishing. Give us a call at 231-228-7135 to get on the water!
